The DistinXion C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S. Program is designed to be a player development program that prepares players for their next steps in basketball and in life. For those looking to play college basketball, this will be excellent. For those looking to maximize their high school careers and then go to college as a student, this program will teach you skills beyond basketball. We want 100% of our program participants to be successful.
The program doesn't just practice. We have Training Camps. These are immersive basketball workouts that are designed to challenge and encourage players in their basketball, character, and leadership development. Here at DistinXion, we believe the summer is when players should not just PROVE, but IMPROVE.
Each Training Camp will give players a full day of development; including both on-court and off-court segments. For more information on Training Camps, please see our Player Development page.
On top of Training Camps, DistinXion C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S. Teams will participate in 6 tournaments throughout the summer. Five of these tournaments will be NCAA certified college-exposure events, meaning the event is open to college coaches at all levels (DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, and JUCO). Teams will also play one non-college exposure tournament in May, which will be open to all coaches except for DI.
While exposure will become an area of focus for our players and our coaching staff at tournaments, DistinXion's top priority will remain player development. The DistinXion coaching staff aims to use tournaments as an opportunity to compete at a high level, and further provide development opportunities for all players and teams.
All tournaments will be in the near Midwest region and within driving distance -- Indianapolis, Bloomington, Cincinnati, etc.
The DistinXion C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S. Program will begin with our first Training Camp in early to mid-March and run through the end of July. Players are given the entire month of June off to focus on their respective HS programs. DistinXion will have either a Training Camp (extended Saturday practices) or a Tournament all weekends in March, April, May, and July. For a full 2019 program schedule, please visit our 2019 Schedule page.
Players are expected to attend AT LEAST 75% of Training Camps, and 75% of Tournaments. We know this time of year can get busy with vacations, spring sports, etc., so though this is our standard, we are willing to be flexible with families as long as absences are communicated in advance. As as organization, we are fully supportive of multi-sport athletes.
Lastly, players are expected to have DistinXion as their primary team throughout the summer. Players will be asked not to play for another travel team during their time with DistinXion.
