Matt Wadsworth
DEVELOPMENT COACH
Matt Wadsworth is entering his 1st season as a coach with the DistinXion CHAMPIONS program. Coach Wadsworth is a graduate of Southern Illinois University (2002), Vincennes University (1999), and North Daviess High School (1997). He just completed his 22nd year in the teaching profession. He teaches business and coaches the boys’ varsity basketball team at Edgewood High School. Before this, he coached at Whiteland High School for seven years, where the Warriors won back-to-back Johnson County tournament titles for the first time in school history. Additional coaching stops include North Posey and Riverton Parke High School.
Coach Wadsworth has twice been selected as the HBCA District 3 Coach of the Year (2010 and 2017). Coach Wadsworth won the IBCA Bob King District Coach of the Year award in 2010.
Matt and his wife Angela live in Bloomington with their daughter Tori and son Ty. All family members enjoy the game of basketball. Angela has been a typical coach's wife, hauling family members to games and consoling the coach after a difficult loss. Tori is a varsity cheerleader for the Edgewood Mustangs, and Ty is a member of the 2030 Distinxion team.
